Women's Lacrosse Suffers Setback at No. 9 East Stroudsburg
EAST STROUDSBURG, PA. - The Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse team (0-3) suffers another loss to a top-25 team on the season, this time a 17-3 defeat to East Stroudsburg University (1-0) in non-conference action.
WHAT HAPPENED
The Warriors controlled the first quarter with six straight goals to have an early lead over Jefferson. The Rams responded in less than 15 seconds of the second quarter as Lynn Hardy made her shot to get Jefferson on the board. East Stroudsburg held their defense through the rest of the quarter, not allowing another Ram's goal while getting four of their own shots in the net to go into halftime up 10-1.
The Warriors repeated their plan in the third quarter, not allowing Jefferson to make one of their six shots in the net. Meanwhile, East Stroudsburg added another four goals as they went into the last quarter up 14-1. Audrey Strock answered for Jefferson as she made her goal three minutes into the last quarter. The Warriors put up three more goals in the final 12 minutes, but L. Hardy got her second goal of the game in the final seconds of the game to finish the match for the Rams in a 17-3 defeat.
