Men's Basketball Defeats CACC North Division Leader Bloomfield 


BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball team (14-8, 7-4) shot 58.7% on the floor and had all five of their starters score in double digits as the Rams took out the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North leaders Bloomfield College (15-7, 7-4) 90-68 in Saturday afternoon competition. 

WHAT HAPPENED 
The first half would begin back-and-forth for the Rams and Bears, trading shots and the lead early on. Bloomfield would be out ahead 8-7, but seven straight points from two layups by Ahmed Barba-Bey and Antonin Kemkeng, who would each have 11 points in the first half, and a three by Hakim Byrd put the Rams up 14-8. Jefferson would continue their runs, outscoring the Bears 19-7 throughout the first period, with two and-ones by Barba-Bey and Bismark Nsiah, an Erik Timko three-pointer while Jeremiah Dorsey and Farouk Kaba each scored in that stretch to get the Rams ahead 33-15. The Bears would begin to score and cut to Jefferson's lead, but the Rams finished the first half with a 49-31 lead heading to the break. 

Jefferson would continue to outscore Bloomfield, scoring 41 points compared to the Bears 37. Both teams would keep the offensive attack going. Timko would score 14 points in the second half, going 6-of-7 on the floor and 2-3 from beyond the arc. Nsiah would follow behind with 11 points. The Bears would only get as close as 18 points in the second half to the Rams, but Jefferson would not let them catch up as they would run away with the game in the second half and earn the 90-68 victory.
