Men's Soccer Ties With Holy Family University to Secure a Playoff Spot  

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer (9-6-2) (4-5-1) competed against Holy Family University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Thursday, November 7. The Rams and the Tiger played a close match and ended up tying in the end. However, it is the Rams who will continue forward with their 2024 season.  

WHAT HAPPENED 

• The Tigers started off strong with a shot on goal from Deshawn Bernard that is missed high to the right  

• John Nelson has a strong start to the first half with his first two saves of the match defending back-to-back shots from both Mohamed Bility and Sergio Revuelta  

• Lewis Ned takes a shot for the Tigers that is missed high and to the right, as well as Bility taking another shot that is blocked by the Rams  

• Matty Harmon takes a low left shot on goal that Cheikh Diouf is ready to save  

• Bernard and Lucca Saad both takes shots that are missed high and to the right  

• Harmon for the Rams, and Tajhay Williams for the Tigers both take shots that are missed right continuing in this extremely close first half  

• Mohamed Elhendawy scores Jefferson their first goal at the 40:32 minute, assisted by Emilson Bitri  

• Williams takes one more shot that is again missed right before the end of the first half, leaving the Rams ahead 1-0 

• The Tigers quickly answered with a goal of their own in the 51:47 minute of the second half. The goal was scored by Ned Lewis, assisted by Conor Seeley putting the score at 1-1 

• Bernard looking for more success takes a low center shot on goal, but Nelson holds the Rams defense and claims his first save of the half  

• The Rams look to score another goal with a low left shot by Kalvin Matischak, that is saved by Diouf 

• Gavin Rowan takes a shot on goal with now 15 minutes left of the second half, Nelson again is ready for the save  

• Sergio Revuelta takes a low left shot for the Tigers, but Nelsons defense holds strong earning him his 4th save of the match as the second half comes to a close tied at 1-1
