Women's Volleyball With The Reverse Sweep Over Goldey Beacom
WILMINGTON, DE - Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (13-16, 8-6) competed against Goldey-Beacom College (14-14, 7-8) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) playoff action on Wednesday, November 13. The Rams came back from being down two sets to claim victory over the lighting.
WHAT HAPPENED

The Rams struggled to match the Lighting in the first 10 points of the match. An attack error from Piper Nanouski set the score at 11-11. Both teams trade points back and forth, with a kill from Morgan Martin setting the score at 15-16, Lighting in the lead. The Lighting then go on a 5 point run being the ones to break 20 first. The Rams continue to fight back with a kill from Liz Tanis bringing the score to 20-21, Rams trailing only one behind. Kills from Jaku Giuliana and Ada Koksal pushed the Lighting ahead taking the first set 25-21.

The second set starts off competitively, both teams going point for point. At 5-5, the Lighting go on an 8 point run bringing them to 13. After a service error from Claudia Camporro, and kills from Pemi Areola and Morgan Ritchie, the Rams look to get back into this set. Both teams continued to battle at the end, but the Lighting found success after taking the second set 25-22.

The third set continues to be a competitive battle between the Rams and the Lighting. Areola claims another kill bringing the score to 6-8, the Rams trailing only two behind. The Rams finally tied the score at 14-14, after three kills from Martin. The remainder of the third set was extremely close but kills from Jaysa Even and Ritchie set the Rams ahead 26-24, forcing the match to a fourth set.

The Rams had a strong start to the fourth set claiming a four point lead early on. Kills from Martin, Ritchie, and Tanis keep the Rams pushing ahead claiming a 16-8 lead. The Lighting fight back towards the end of the set, but the Rams are able to finish on top 25-21

Piper Nanouski with a huge kill for the Lighting, gets the first point of the set. Martin and Ritchie quickly responded claiming their own, setting the score at 2-2. The Lighting can reach 8 first, as both teams switch sides. The Rams tie up the score at 9-9, and an attack error from Nanouski and a kill from Caroline Bond give the Rams a two point lead. Kills from Emily Mckenna and Ritchie again bring the Rams to 15-11 taking the five set victory over the Lighting.
