Women's Tennis Falls in Close Contest to Chestnut Hill 


PHILADELPHIA, PA – Thomas Jefferson University women's tennis (2-4, 1-4) held a 3-2 lead in their match, but ultimately fell in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to Chestnut Hill College (5-2, 4-1) 4-3 in Tuesday afternoon action. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

  • The Griffins took the first point as they won in the #1 and #2 doubles position. Zenia Barretto and Emily Frost took the #3 doubles 6-4, but Jefferson trailed heading into the singles matches 

  • Alycia Veroux earned the #2 singles victory 6-2, 6-1 while Anna Morgillo received a retirement victory for Jefferson to take the lead 

  • After Chestnut Hill won the fifth position, Rose Huang secured the third position win 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) as the Rams held a 3-2 lead 

  • The Griffins ended up winning the sixth and first position spots, taking the 4-3 win over Jefferson
