Women's Soccer Get Two Goals in the First Half to Take 2-0 Win Over Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, CT. - The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (2-1-1) would get two goals in the first half as they would hold onto their lead in the second as the Rams would get the non-conference win over Bridgeport University (1-2-2) in Saturday afternoon action.

WHAT HAPPENED
The Rams would get their first goal early in the 7th minute as Kyra Lesko would take a pass from Devin Sullivan from the middle and chip it over the goalie to put Jefferson up 1-0. The game would begin to be a little more defensive, as both teams would take four shots in the first half. Jefferson would have their fourth shot count when it mattered as Kiery Spats would have a drop pass to Abby Lytle, who would take a long shot to the goal, converting the long attempt in the 45th minute as the Rams would get ahead 2-0.

The second half would see the Purple Knights begin to get on the offensive, as they would outshoot Jefferson 8-4. Defense would step up, as they had one block for the team while goalie Liv Riddel would save three shots to earn her second consecutive shutout to help the Rams win 2-0.
