Baseball Bested Twice By Post

PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (13-13, 3-3 CACC) lost two conference games to Post (19-12, 9-1 CACC) on Sunday.

GAME ONE – L, 8-7
The Rams opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the first, both coming in on bases-loaded walks. Both teams pushed a run across in the second. The Eagles led off the frame with a home run and Alex Gonzalez recorded a sacrifice fly for Jefferson.

Post took over with a six-run fourth. The Eagles sent 11 men to the plate, registered six hits, and capitalized on an error. The Rams closed the gap to two (7-5) in the bottom of the fourth on Chris McLean's two-run single up the middle.

Post made it 8-5 with an RBI double in the eighth but McLean singled in another run in the bottom of the inning to cut the deficit to two again. Diego Santiago blasted a solo homer with one away in the seventh to get the Rams within one but a pair of strikeouts ended the game.

In the sixth, Joe Cencetti scored on an error and Diego Santiago came home on Ryan Coyle's sacrifice fly to get Jefferson within three (7-4).
