No. 1 Volleyball Takes Quarterfinal Win Over No. 4 Post; Moves onto Semifinals
PHILADELPHIA – The South No. 1 seeded Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (18-10) would host their playoff matchup where they would go onto sweep North No. 4 seed Post University in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Quarterfinal contest inside the Gallagher Center this Tuesday evening.
WHAT HAPPENED
Post jumped out to an early lead off a Kaila Sandy Kill and two service aces. Jefferson would respond with seven straight points, with the Eagles committing five errors while
Jess Molen earned two kills in that stretch. The Rams would get out to a 10-4 lead, but Post would tie the game up at 11-11 as the Eagles took a 7-1 run. Jefferson would put their foot on the gas as they would conclude the set on a 14-3 run that saw three straight service aces by
Caroline Bond, three kills by Molen and two by
Morgan Ritchie to give the Rams the first set 25-14.
The Eagles took the first two points to begin the second set, with Jefferson going on a 6-1 run to retake the lead. The Rams would keep their lead intact, trading points with the Eagles while still having a three-point run to get them ahead 15-7. Post would get within seven, but Jefferson took the second set 25-15.
The Rams would take six of the first eight points in the third set off of two
Sam Mann kills, with Ritchie and Molen having one apiece. The Eagles got within one point at 7-6, but three straight Ram points kept their lead intact. Post would then go on a 5-2 run to get within one as Colleen Romero had two kills while Niah Messidor and Tamara Radovanov had a block. Jefferson would get behind two Mann kills while she also added two blocks alongside
Aja Smith to get the Rams up 17-12. After trading points once more, Jefferson ended the set on a 5-1 run that saw two Ritchie kills, a
Cameron Johnson service ace, and two aces from Bond that were the last points in the set, giving the Rams the 25-17 set victory and earning a 3-0 sweep to advance to the CACC Championship Tournament.

Jefferson will now be playing at Lakewood, N.J. at the Georgian Court campus for the rest of the CACC Championship Tournament. The Rams will open the CACC Championship Semifinal match against South No. 3 seed Wilmington University of Delaware, who knocked off North No. 2 seed Felician University 3-0. The match will be on Saturday, November 18 at either 12 p.m. or 2:30 p.m.
