PHILADELPHIA – The #25 ranked Thomas Jefferson University (7-2-2, 5-0-1) took an early goal at the 12
th minute and added another goal in the second half to give the Rams a 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win over Felician University in Friday afternoon competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
Jefferson jumped out on offense early on, attempting 12 shots in the first half. A pass by
Avery Nogami set up
Devin Sullivan with a header that floated over the goal to give the Rams a 1-0 lead at the 12
th minute mark. With the offense taking control, the defense held strong as they didn't allow a single shot in the first half as Jefferson went into the break up 1-0.
The second half showed more even play by the Golden Falcons. The Rams had eight shots in the half, but Felician was able to take five in that period, looking to get the game tied.
Kiery Spatz was able to stop those plans, as she took her shot 15 feet away and kicked the ball right to the left side of the net to push the Rams up 2-0 at the 58
th minute mark. The Golden Falcons had a chance to cut the lead as a penalty kick was awarded to them, but
Liv Riddel stopped the shot and kept the game scoreless, helping Jefferson hold the 2-0 to the end of the match.
