#25 Women's Soccer Goes to a Draw with Georgian Court
LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The #25 ranked Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (5-2-2, 3-0-1) took over 20 shots in the matchup, but would finish the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup in a 1-1 draw with Georgian Court University in Wednesday afternoon action.
WHAT HAPPENED
The Rams would hold onto a strong defensive pressure in the first half, allowing only two shots from the lions in that period. Jefferson would take 12 of their own in that half, but Carley Polchak would make five of her nine saves in that timeframe, keeping the game scoreless at the break.
Georgian Court would get off to a hot start in the second half as they would score at the 47
th minute mark to go ahead 1-0 over Jefferson. The Rams would get the game even once again at the 54
th minute when
Anna Midock passed it to
Devin Sullivan who took her shot and converted, making it 1-1. The Lions would attempt five shots after that goal, but
Liv Riddel and the Jefferson defense held strong. Sullivan tried one last shot near the end, but it would not find the net as the game would end in a 1-1 tie.
