WATERBURY, Conn. – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team bowed out of the CACC Tournament with a pair of losses on Thursday. The Rams dropped their opener in the double-elimination portion of the tourney, 11-3, to Post then fell in an elimination game to Felician, 8-4. Jefferson ends the campaign with a 26-21 record.
GAME ONE VS. POST – L, 11-3
Arturo Figueroa put the Rams ahead in the first with his sixth home run of the year. However, the Eagles responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame. Post smashed a three-run homer and added an RBI groundout.
The Eagles increased their lead to five (6-1) in the third with a two-run double.
Alex Gonzalez singled in a pair with two outs in the fourth to get Jefferson within three (6-3). Post restored a five-run advantage in the sixth with one run scoring on an error and another coming home on a wild pitch.
The Eagles pulled away with three more runs in the eighth on a trio of RBI singles. The Rams struggled to find consistent offense throughout the contest, managing just five hits. They also committed four errors, leading to six unearned runs for Post.

GAME TWO VS. FELICIAN – L, 8-4
The Golden Falcons opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the first. Felician upped the margin to six with a four-run fifth. The Golden Falcons doubled in a pair and hit back-to-back RBI singles.
Jefferson got on the board in the sixth. With two outs,
Justin Espinal drew a bases-loaded walk and
Alex Gonzalez followed with a two-run double. Felician made it 7-3 in the seventh with an RBI base hit. The Rams cut the deficit to three again with a sacrifice fly by Espinal in the eighth. However, the Golden Falcons scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the frame to go ahead 8-4.
Jefferson put two runners on in the ninth but could not score. The Rams out-hit Felician, 9-7, but left 10 runners on base.
