PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (14-13, 5-5 CACC) had its four-game win streak come to an end with a pair of losses at USciences on Sunday.
GAME ONE – L, 3-2
The game remained scoreless until the fourth inning when the Devils took a 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly. Another sac fly in the sixth increased the USciences advantage to 2-0.
The Rams were held in check offensively through the first six frames, recording just two hits, but broke through in the seventh.
Arturo Figueroa led off with a homer and
Efrain Santiago later hit a game-tying RBI single.
In the eighth, the Devils regained the upper hand, registering a two-out RBI single to take a 3-2 lead. In the ninth, Jefferson put the tying run on with one out but the runner was stranded at first base as USciences finished off the win.

GAME TWO – L, 10-3
The Devils opened the scoring in the second with a sacrifice fly. Jefferson continued to struggle at the plate, posting just three hits and leaving five runners on base through the first five innings.
USciences broke it open with a nine-run fifth. Six of the runs were unearned. The Rams got on the board in the sixth with three runs.
Zack Austin smacked a two-run triple before coming home on
Arturo Figueroa's sacrifice fly. Jefferson could not cut any further into the deficit, however, and the Devils closed out the sweep.
