Big Inning By Queens Foils Rams

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (19-17) fell at Queens (N.Y.), 9-4, in a non-conference game on Wednesday.

GAMEPLAY
The Rams opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the second. Chris McLean led off with a homer, his sixth of the year, and Justin Espinal added an RBI single. Jefferson made it 3-0 in the fourth when Efrain Santiago scored on a balk.

The Knights tallied all nine of their runs in a huge fourth inning. Queens recorded six hits and two walks in the frame. Six of the runs were unearned after a Jefferson error. The Knights capped off the scoring in the stanza with back-to-back home runs, the first of which was a grand slam.

McLean began the sixth with his second long ball of the day to get the Rams within five (9-4). However, Jefferson managed just one baserunner the rest of the way.
