PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse team opened the 2022 campaign with a 16-5 loss at 19th-ranked Pace on Sunday.

GAMEPLAY
The Rams had their first action with the new format, as the NCAA switched to four 15-minute quarters for women's lacrosse beginning this season. It was a defensive battle in the opening quarter with Jefferson recording the only goal, a tally by
Audrey Strock with 2:34 on the clock.

The Setters' offense broke through in the second, netting all seven goals in the period to take a 7-1 halftime lead. Pace had the first marker of the third to make it 8-1 before
Erin Avanzato ended the Rams' scoring drought at 11:20. After a Pace goal, Jefferson registered three in a row, two of them by
Carina Raymond, to cut the deficit to four (9-5). The Setters made it 10-5 before the end of the frame.

The Pace defense locked down the Rams once again in the fourth, as the Setters produced all six tallies in the quarter to pull away for the win.
