DUE WEST, S.C. - The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (0-4) finished its opening weekend with a pair of losses to Erskine on Saturday.

GAME ONE - L, 9-1
The Flying Fleet got on the board in the second inning with an RBI single. They held the Rams without a hit until the fourth when Jefferson put two men on with one out but could not score. Erskine tacked on a pair of runs in the sixth via an RBI double and a bases-loaded walk.

Jefferson pushed a run across in the seventh on an
Alex Gonzalez sacrifice fly. However, the host team broke it open with three runs in both the seventh and eighth innings.

GAME TWO - L, 11-4
Erskine got the scoring started in the opening inning, recording an RBI single and a two-run homer.
Alex Gonzalez knocked in two for the Rams with a two-out single in the second. However, the Flying Fleet answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the frame.

Arturo Figueroa registered his own two-out RBI single in the third to get Jefferson within two (5-3). Erskine responded once again, pushing two across in the bottom half to make the score 7-3. The Rams' final tally came in the fourth on a lead-off home run by
Lucas DeStefano, his first at the collegiate level. The Flying Fleet padded their advantage with a three-run shot in the fifth.

Jefferson had an opportunity to get back in the game in the sixth, loading the bases with two outs but Erskine came up with a strikeout to end the threat. The Flying Fleet then added an insurance run on a wild pitch.
