Men's Basketball Falls To Winston-Salem State

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball team (2-2) suffered a 76-43 setback versus Winston-Salem State (3-1) in the Harlem Renaissance Classic on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
WSSU opened the game with five points but the Rams came back with nine in a row to go in front, all by the three-point ball. The score was 11-7 before WSSU made back-to-back layups to tie the score. The teams were even at 13 then WSSU went on a 17-2 run to go ahead 30-15 with 6:44 to go in the half. Jefferson closed the gap to 12 (36-24) but WSSU made a layup and hit a three to enter halftime with a 17-point cushion (41-24).
 
WSSU continued its strong play to begin the second half, scoring 11 of the first 12 points to increase the margin to 27 (52-25). The difference remained over 20 for the rest of the contest. WSSU closed the game with eight of the last 10 points for the final score.
