PHILADELPHIA - Chestnut Hill finished the game with a 12-3 run to steal a victory from the Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball team (10-4, 6-1 CACC) in conference action on Thursday night.

GAMEPLAY
After the Griffins started the scoring with a layup, the Rams followed with a three-pointer and a layup for a 5-2 lead. Jefferson held the advantage for the next seven minutes. Chestnut Hill turned a five-point deficit into a 17-all tie after a 6-1 stretch that ended at the 12:36 mark. The Rams'
Antonin Kemkeng netted five straight points on his own to put his team back in front 22-17. However, the Griffins came back to even the score again at 24 apiece. The teams battled back and forth and stayed within one possession of each other until the Rams pulled ahead by four (38-34) with 2:44 remaining. Jefferson upped the margin to five (42-37) before CHC closed the half with a bucket to trail 42-39 at the break.

The two sides remained tight throughout the second period. There were six ties in the stanza with the last coming at 72-all with 3:48 to go. Kemkeng made a layup then
Deondre Bourne hit a jumper to give Jefferson a 76-72 advantage with 2:43 left. The Griffins hit a three, the Rams missed a layup, then Chestnut Hill converted its own layup attempt to take over 77-76 (1:54). After Jefferson was off the mark on a pair of shots, the Griffins drilled another big three to increase their lead to four (80-76) with 40 seconds remaining. After the Rams missed a three on their next possession, they were forced to foul. CHC made both shots but Bourne came back with a three to get Jefferson within three (82-79) with 20 seconds on the clock. After another foul, the Griffins missed the front end of a one-and-one but came up with the rebound. The Rams had to foul again and Chestnut Hill converted both free throws to put the game away.
