PHILADELPHIA - The Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (12-1, 3-1 CACC) bounced back from its first defeat of the season with a 3-0 sweep of visiting Chestnut Hill on Saturday evening.

GAMEPLAY
The Griffins got off to a flying start, posting the first four points of the match. Chestnut Hill had an 8-3 advantage but the Rams rallied for six straight points to go ahead 9-8. Jefferson was in front 13-11 before the Griffins strung together four points for a 15-13 lead. However, the Rams responded with four of their own to reclaim a two-point edge (17-15). CHC was within one (21-20) before Jefferson finished off the set with four in a row to win 25-20.

The score was even at three in the second then the Rams had a 4-0 run to take the lead. The Griffins closed the gap to one (9-8) but Jefferson went on a 10-1 rally to pull away. The closest the visitors got was eight before the Rams took the frame by a 25-14 score.

In the third, Chestnut Hill held a 12-9 advantage before Jefferson took over with an 8-1 run. The Rams held the lead until the Griffins evened the score at 23, threatening to push the match to a fourth set. However, Jefferson recovered as
Jess Molen tallied a pair of kills to clinch the match 25-23.
