LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse team suffered its first conference loss of the season with a 15-5 setback at Georgian Court on Wednesday. The Rams are 9-2 overall with a 6-1 CACC record.
GAMEPLAY
The Lions posted the first four goals of the contest before
Erin Avanzato put Jefferson on the board at the 20:09 mark. GCU scored three in a row to make the score 7-1.
Erin Eckert hit the back of the net for the Rams to bring it to 7-2 with 14:39 left in the opening half. The Lions followed with four straight goals to end the period and lead 11-2 at the break.
Georgian Court netted the first two goals of the second stanza to up the margin to 11 (13-2). Avanzato tallied her second of the game at 15:21 to make it a 10-goal game. The teams traded two goals apiece over the final 15 minutes with Jefferson getting a pair of goals from
Erin Campbell.
