NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Thomas Jefferson University softball team bounced back from a game one defeat to win game two and split a CACC doubleheader at Wilmington (Del.) on Wednesday. The Rams are 7-5 on the season.
GAME ONE – L, 10-2 (6 inn.)
The Rams opened the scoring in the first as
Emily Akelaitis kept her hot streak at the plate going, blasting her team-leading sixth home run of the season to put Jefferson in front 2-0. The Wildcats countered with three runs in the bottom half on a sacrifice fly and a two-run homer.
Wilmington added two runs in the second to make it 5-2, scoring on a double and an error. The Rams threatened in the third, loading the bases, but a double play ended the inning. The Wildcats pushed across five runs in the sixth to end the game early due to the eight-run rule.

Dallas Urban's base hit to left brought home Egher.
The Wildcats got one back in the bottom of the first on an error. They made it 4-2 in the second after a RBI single. It became a one-run game in the sixth after Wilmington recorded a sacrifice fly. However,
Anastasia Reale retired the side in order in the seventh to seal the win. She sat down the first eight batters she faced after entering the game in the third and 14 of 17 hitters overall.
