STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Thomas Jefferson University softball team swept a doubleheader at conference foe Nyack on Saturday night. The Rams improved to 9-5 on the year.

GAME ONE - W, 13-2 (6 inn.)
The Rams got on the board in the second with a pair of runs.
Dallas Urban hit an RBI single to left field and
Sam Gomez drove in a run with an infield base hit. In the third,
Winnai Hoyt led off with a triple and scored on a groundout by
Sage Bolonski.

Jefferson upped the advantage to six with a three-run fourth.
Ali Murphy scored on Gomez's groundout before Hoyt and
Ellie Egher smacked back-to-back RBI doubles. The Warriors broke through in the bottom half, scoring twice on a pair of errors.

Urban came home on a groundout in the fifth and
Emily Akelaitis followed with a run-scoring single to make it 8-2. The Rams then went off for five runs in the sixth.
Victoria Juckniewitz drew a bases-loaded walk,
Emily Kuberski singled in a run, Akelaitis drove in two with a base knock, and
Anna Akelaitis recorded an RBI single.
Emily Akelaitis retired Nyack in order in the bottom half to end the game early due to the eight-run rule.

Nyack opened the scoring in the first with an RBI single up the middle. The Warriors made it a 3-0 game in the third on a two-run double. The Rams began their comeback in the fourth with
Winnai Hoyt's RBI double down the left field line. Hoyt got Jefferson within one with a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

In the seventh, the Rams were down to their last out after the first two hitters were retired.
Julia Heine started a rally with a walk then
Victoria Juckniewitz put runners on first and second with a single.
Ali Murphy sent a ball up the middle to score Heine and tie the game.
Emily Akelaitis followed with a go-ahead, two-run double to center.
Gianna DeLorenzo sat down the Warriors in order in the bottom of the frame to complete the come-from-behind victory.
