LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (26-4) captured its second CACC Championship, and first since 2016, with a 3-0 sweep of Bloomfield in the conference final on Sunday afternoon.

The Rams earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. The bracket will be announced via a live selection show on NCAA.com on Monday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m.

GAMEPLAY
The Bears got out to a 3-1 lead in the first set but Jefferson countered with six straight points to go ahead 7-3. Bloomfield still trailed by four at 16-12 but the Rams pulled away with an 8-1 run to make it 24-13. Jefferson posted a .500 hitting percentage in the frame on the way to a 25-15 win.

Bloomfield started the second set with four points but the Rams came back to even the score at seven. It was the first of nine ties as the teams went back and forth throughout the set. Trailing 22-19, Jefferson rallied for six of the next seven points to stun the Bears with a 25-23 victory.

The Rams carried the momentum into the third stanza, jumping out to a 6-2 advantage. Bloomfield roared back, however, with a 9-4 stretch to take an 11-10 lead. The Bears still led by one at 16-15 when Jefferson surged forward with four points in a row for a three-point cushion (19-16). Bloomfield was able to get within one but the Rams held them off and
Morgan Ritchie delivered the championship-winning kill for a 25-23 triumph.
