Women's tennis upended by Goldey-Beacom 7-2

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Philadelphia University women's tennis team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) to Goldey-Beacom 7-2 on Tuesday at the Delcastle Tennis Center.

Philadelphia is now 8-2 overall, 3-2 in the CACC. Goldey-Beacom improves to 5-0 overall, 2-0 in conference play.

Emily Chung (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) and Anna Kudriavtceva (Yekaterinburg, Russia/Grammar School No. 13) picked up Philadelphia's first point with an 8-5 win over Nina Sengi and Amina Mrad at No. 2 doubles. Chung and Kudriavtceva are now 7-1, 4-1 against the conference, as a duo.

Julia Arruda (Valinhos, Brazil/Anglo Coc Valinhos) collected the second point in the No. 1 singles match after Laura Moreno was forced to retire in the second set. Moreno had won the first set.

Philadelphia has a week off before returning to action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Division I Rider.
