Women's tennis falls to Chestnut Hill, 8-1

PHILADELPHIA –The Philadelphia University women's tennis team was defeated by Chestnut Hill 8-1 in a battle of regionally ranked teams Wednesday afternoon on the Abraham Salaman Tennis Courts.

Philadelphia, the 10th ranked team in the ITA East Region Rankings, is now 13-7 overall. Chestnut Hill, fourth in the ITA East Region Rankings, improves its overall record to 15-6.

Freshman Emily Chung (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) picked up Philadelphia's lone point of the match by fending off Marie Deleval in a tough No. 3 singles match 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7). The victory is Chung's 10th singles win of the season, eighth at the No. 3 flight.

Philadelphia will have its final match of the season on Thursday, April 10 against visiting Rider at 3:30 p.m.
