WILMINGTON, Del. – The Philadelphia University women's tennis suffered an 8-1 loss to host Goldey-Beacom Tuesday afternoon at the Delcastle Tennis Center.
The No. 1 doubles team of freshman Emily Chung (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) and senior Isabela Espinosa (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio Americano de Quito) scored the Rams' (12-6) lone point with a hard-fought 8-6 win over Rocio Cabanillas Moreno and Nina Sengl.
Chung and Espinosa improve to 8-6 this season as a doubles teams.
In singles action, Chung put up a strong fight in the No. 3 flight against Maria Martinez before falling 6-3, 6-4.
Goldey-Beacom is now 10-4 overall.
Philadelphia heads to Holy Family for a non-conference match on Friday, April 4 at 3:30 p.m.
