Women's volleyball sweeps Goldey-Beacom in CACC match, 3-0

PHILADELPHIA – Junior middle hitter Terra Ecker (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) recorded 11 kills and an eye-popping .733 hitting percentage as the Philadelphia University women's volleyball team swept visiting Goldey-Beacom, 3-0, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Wednesday night in the Gallagher Center.

The Rams (7-7, 6-2 CACC) had just six attack errors to hit .347 in the match, which they won by set scores of 25-10, 25-13, and 25-10.

Senior outside hitter Brittany Olson (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) added six kills and eight digs for Philadelphia.

Senior setter Heather Martin (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) tallied 11 assists, while sophomore setter Allyson Schillinger (Spring Hill, Fla./Springstead) had 10 assists.

Sophomore outside hitter Allison Manley (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles East) led the defense with 10 digs.  

Kadi McCoy paced the Lightning with six kills and match-high 11 digs.

The Rams played solid defense in the first two sets, forcing the Lightning to commit 12 attack errors in the first and nine more in the second. In the third set, six different Rams recorded at least one of the team's 12 kills.

Philadelphia looks for its first three-match winning streak of the season when it heads to Dominican (N.Y.) for a CACC match on Saturday, Oct. 12 at noon.
