PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's tennis team was swept 9-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match by host Chestnut Hill Tuesday afternoon.
The loss ends Philadelphia's winning streak at four and moves the team's overall record to 8-4, 2-3 in CACC play. Chestnut Hill is now 11-1 overall and 8-0 against the conference.
The No. 1 doubles team of senior Isabela Espinosa (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio Americano de Quito) and freshman Emily Chung (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) had the Rams' most competitive doubles match, falling to Charlotte Dawson and Marie Deleval 8-4.
Chung and Deleval also squared off in the No. 3 singles match, which Deleval pulled out by a 6-2, 6-2 score.
Philadelphia returns home to face Division I Rider on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 3 p.m.
