Men's soccer concludes CACC play with 2-0 loss to Chestnut Hill

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's soccer team closed out Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a 2-0 loss to host Chestnut Hill Wednesday night on Victory Field #1 at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School.

Philadelphia is now 9-7-1 overall and ends up 7-4-1 against the CACC. The Rams have already secured a home match in the opening round of the CACC Championship Tournament against an opponent still to be determined on Monday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. on Ravenhill Field.

The Rams finish the regular season with a non-conference match on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Molloy starting at noon.

Nils Fussen gave Chestnut Hill (7-9-2, 6-5-1 CACC) a 1-0 lead with a 27th-minute goal. Fussen one-timed a Juan Amaya pass into the Ram net for the eventual game-winner.

Channing Couillard added to the Griffin lead when he took advantage on a loose ball in front of the goal during the 46th minute.

Junior goalkeeper Neil Kwiatkowski (Schenectady, N.Y./Duanesburg) made two saves for Philadelphia. Chestnut Hill's James Jackson stopped five shots.

Chestnut Hill outshot Philadelphia, 13-9.
