Rams suffer 2-0 road setback to Caldwell in CACC match

CALDWELL, N.J. – The Philadelphia University men's soccer team was defeated by host Caldwell, 2-0, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon on Caldwell Field.

The Rams are now 5-4-4 overall and 2-3-3 against the CACC. Caldwell goes to 4-4-1 overall and 3-2-0 in conference play.

Chris Skarbelis opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after putting in a rebound inside the penalty area. Steve Petrosino and Yousef Elhusseini both earned an assist on the game-opening tally.

In the 59th minute, Evan Teitelbaum added the second goal for the Cougars with a shot from the right side of the penalty area. Dylan Ross assisted on the insurance marker.

Caldwell's Michael Hartman stopped all four shots on goal he faced, three coming in the second half, to earn the shutout. Philadelphia's Neil Kwiatkowski came up with two saves in the loss.

The Cougars outshot the Rams, 11-8. Philadelphia had a 3-1 corner kick advantage.

Philadelphia returns to action against CACC foe Chestnut Hill on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. on Ravenhill Field.
