Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University men's soccer team kicked off a three-match stretch of road contests with a 2-0 loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Holy Family Tuesday afternoon on a wet Tiger Field.
Philadelphia is now 4-3-4 overall, 2-2-3 in the CACC. Holy Family improves to 5-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 against the conference.
Dodji Freitas scored the match's first goal in the 21st minute by heading in a pass from Ahmed Elgayar. Justin Massaro added a second Tiger goal in the 32nd minute with an assist from Kevin Pohl.
After falling behind 2-0, the Rams turned up the pressure, outshooting the Tigers by a 10-2 count, including a 4-0 gap in shots on goal, over the final 58 minutes. Holy Family's Kelly Diaz, who received a red card 45 seconds into the second half, and Nick Agilra combined to stopped all of the attempts.
Diaz and Agilra both finished the match with three saves each. Philadelphia's Neil Kwiatkowski didn't make any saves. The Rams ended the match with a 14-6 shots advantage and a 4-3 edge on corner kicks.
Philadelphia heads to West Chester for a non-conference match on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
