PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's tennis team concluded its fall schedule by sweeping the University of the Sciences, 9-0, in a non-conference match Tuesday afternoon on the Abraham Salaman Tennis Courts.
The Lady Rams finished the fall with an 11-6 overall record.
Olivia Amato and Sylvia Bennicelli opened the match with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles against Nicole D'Ascenzo and Allison Korn. The No. 1 tandem of Isabella Espinosa and Kaylee Fennern, and the No. 2 team of Sayre Limburg and Elizabeth Verbits were both winners by an 8-4 score.
Espinosa tied Magill Kurts by earning her 10th singles victory, 6-2, 6-3 over Victoria Quang at No. 1. Fennern was a winner in the No. 2 flight by a 6-0, 6-3 score against Sara Durham. At No. 3, Limburg downed Melissa White, 6-0, 7-5. Amato was a 7-5, 6-0 winner against Anna Vo in the No. 4 match. Verbits finished her fall at 8-7 after knocking off Michelle Adamczyk 6-3, 6-4. Alyssa Tullar needed a tiebreak to claim the No. 6 match, 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (10-8).
