Philadelphia, PA-The Philadelphia University men's soccer team (11-5-2, 8-2-1 CACC) tied the visiting Mercy College Mavericks (6-7-3, 1-5 ECC) on Friday afternoon at Ravenhill Field. The Rams will now host the CACC Quarterfinal game on Tuesday (11/2) at 2:00 p.m., opponent TBD.
The Mavs scored early (6:16), taking a 1-0 lead on a shot by Raldino Powell. PhilaU responded at 41:36 with a goal from junior forward Milos Racic, assisted by junior midfielder Ryan Purnell.
In the second half, MC scored early once again (49:55) on a Ben Latchford goal. PhilaU tied it up at 75:19 on a cross from Racic that an MC player touched in for an own goal.
PhilaU freshman goalie Alex Heston had five saves, while MC's Martin Walsh made seven stops.
