Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team (0-1) could not hold off the East Stroudsburg University Warriors (1-0) in a 3-0 loss at the Gallagher Athletic Center on Thursday night.  Senior Nicole Berkstresser (Bridgewater, NJ/ Bridgewater-Raritan) led PhilaU with eight kills, along with four defensive digs.

The Warriors took games one and two with identical 25-22 scores.  The Lady Rams dropped the final game of the match 25-15. 

Defensively, both senior Celena Rendon (San Antonio, TX/ Tom C. Clark) and freshman Mary Mancuso (Granby, MA/ Holyoke Catholic) notched double-digits digs. 

The Lady Rams return to action on Saturday (8/29) when they travel to Goldey-Beacom College for a tri-match with GBC (11 a.m.) and Bowie State (1 p.m.).
