Box Score Senior forward Jason Hickenbottom (pictured
right) poured in a game-high 19 points and collected 12 rebounds,
helping the Philadelphia University men's basketball team to a 52-47 win at Holy Family University on Monday,
December 3rd. After dropping their first five games to open
the season, the Rams have now won three straight, improving to 3-5
overall and 2-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
(CACC).
Head Coach Herb Magee's team trailed just once in
the contest at 4-2 before putting together an 11-4 run to take a
13-6 advantage, capped by a Hickenbottom jumper with 11:48
remaining in the opening half. The lead swelled to 12 points
at 26-14 with the Rams settling for a 33-22 lead after 20 minutes
of action. In the second half, Philadelphia University
maintained a comfortable margin for the most part until the host
Tigers went on a 10-1 run to close the gap to 49-46 with 37 seconds
left in regulation. However, junior guard Mike
Dunn found sophomore swingman Marcus
Lemon for a layup with 24 seconds left that sealed the
victory for the Rams.
