Box Score Sophomore forward Malcolm Ingram registered a
double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, leading Philadelphia
University to an 83-44 win over Chestnut Hill College in men's
basketball action on Wednesday night at the Gallagher Center.
With the victory, the Rams improve to 5-7 overall while the
Griffins fall to 0-7 overall.
Although Chestnut Hill is the newest member of the
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), this contest did not
count towards the South Division standings. The two teams
will meet again twice this season, back at the Gallagher Center on
Tuesday, January 15, 2008 and also on Wednesday, February 13,
2008 at Sorgenti Arena on the nearby Chestnut Hill campus.
In addition to Ingram, the Rams placed three other players in
double-figure scoring including sophomore guard/forward
Marcus Lemon who netted a career-high 17
points in his first career start, to go along with four rebounds,
four steals and four assists. Sophomore point guard
Russell Frederick added 16 points, five assists
and two steals; while junior guard Mike Dunn
contributed 11 points, seven rebounds and three helpers for the
victors.
Freshman guard Mike Acquaviva paced the
Griffins with nine points and four boards;
fellow freshman guard Brandon Williams scored
seven points and pulled down five rebounds in the losing effort for
Chestnut Hill.
Ingram scored the first five points of the contest which
were followed by a three-point field goal from Dunn that
gave the Rams an 8-0 advantage just two minutes into the
game. From there, Head Coach Herb Magee's squad never
looked back. Philadelphia University took at 43-19 lead into
the halftime break, as Ingram notched 14 points and eight rebounds
in the first half on 6-9 (66.6%) field-goal shooting.
The Rams have some time off for the start of winter break
before resuming action next weekend with two games, as
they take part in the Bryant University Holiday

at 7:00 p.m., in a rematch of the Rams' 80-65 season-opening loss to the Greyhounds at the
