Recinto's Career-High Lifts Women's Basketball Over Wilmington
WILMINGTON, Del. –
Gabby Recinto put up a career-high 25 points while
Emily Spratt put up 20 points as Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (14-6, 8-4) went on the road and earned a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over Wilmington University (Del.) 66-51 in Thursday evening action.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Jefferson trailed through the game as Wilmington tied the contest six times, four in the first half
- The Rams outscored the Wildcats 9-5 in the backend of the first quarter after a 6-6 tie, giving Jefferson a 15-11 lead. Wilmington evened it out once again at 17-17 with 6:51 left before the break. Jefferson once again went on a run, this time outscoring Wilmington 12-7, to lead by five points at the half
- The Wildcats tied the game twice in the third with the last time being 31-31 with 6:50 left in the third. The Rams began to get their foot on the gas pedal, outscoring Wilmington 35-20 the rest of the way onto a 66-51 win
- Recinto put up 25 points on the day, a career-high, as she added 14 rebounds and three blocks as well. She put up 10 points in the third quarter. Emily Spratt was the second highest scorer in the game as she dropped 20 points while leading the team in steals with four. Tori Nigro and Carolyn Sipprell both dished out the ball to their teammates with six and five assists respectively. Caleigh Spreling added nine points off the bench
- Reynah Rattliff, Emma Brown, and TyKeisha Hill all scored in double-digits for Wilmington
