Men's Soccer Put Up Five Goals for First Win on the Season

PETERSBURG, VA – Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer (1-1) looked to get their first win on the season this afternoon as the Rams put up five goals on the day for a 5-1 victory over Virginia State University (0-1) in non-conference action. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• After being scoreless for the first 19 minutes, Mohamed Elhendawy made his shot at the 20th minute to get the Rams up 1-0 

• Sean Stackhouse added a goal with a penalty kick and Lesedi Hlabeli put his first collegiate goal at the 34th minute to make it 3-0 at the break for Jefferson 

• The Trojans opened up the second half with a goal to cut the Rams lead to 3-1 

• Diego Guzman made it a three point lead again with a goal in the 63rd minute off a deep pass from Lucca Bellina. Tommy Harmon put the game on ice with his shot seeing the back of the net at the 89th minute to end the game 5-1 in favor of the Rams
