No.3 Men's Tennis Season Ends in Heartbreak to No.2 St. Thomas Aquinas

PHILADELPHIA – Going to the final set in the game, No.3 seeded Thomas Jefferson University men's tennis (10-8) fell in tiebreakers and was defeated by St. Thomas Aquinas College (17-6) in the First Round of the NCAA East Regional contest on Saturday afternoon. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• The Spartans took the doubles point as they won in the first and third positions, which proved to be the deciding factor in the match 

• St. Thomas Aquinas went up 2-0 as they won the fifth position spot. Anthony Moukarzel got the win in the second to give Jefferson their first points of the day 

• Spartans went ahead 3-1 with the sixth position, but Mario responded only seconds after to make it 3-2 

• Enrique Soto Ballester earned the third set win in the third position, making it all tied up at 3-3 with the fourth spot being the deciding factor 

• STAC went to get the tiebreaker in their favor, going on to win 4-3 and end the Rams season just outside of the Round of 16
