Women's Basketball Holds Off Caldwell to Advance to CACC Finals
PHILADELPHIA – Having four players score 10+ points as they began to pull away in the fourth quarter as Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (24-6) earns a 63-54 win over Caldwell University (17-13) to make their second straight CACC Championship Title game.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Caldwell went ahead 6-2 with Jah'Nel Lewis making four of those points. Emily Spratt put up two shots in the basket with Tori Nigro connecting on her shot to go up 8-6
- Another Spratt jumper and two Emma Kuczynski three's made it 14-10 in favor of the Rams
- Caldwell outscored Jefferson 16-14 as Lucy Coogan put up six points during that timeframe
- Gabby Recinto delivered seven points during the second
- The Cougars had a 7-0 run to be ahead 40-33 in the third quarter. Kaya Burkhart had four points with Spratt. Kuczynski hit two free throws and Sam Yencha made a basket to be ahead 45-42. Shayne Eldridge three-pointer had it tied at 45-45 going into the fourth
- Jefferson had a 10-point run that helped them run away in the fourth to secure the 63-54 win
