Softball Falls in Doubleheader Against West Chester
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Jefferson softball (4-16) battled against West Chester (16-5) in a Sunday doubleheader but came up short in both games against the Golden Rams.
GAME ONE: L, 3-5
- Wester Chester scored the first run in the top of the third.
- Jefferson fought back and briefly took the lead 2-1 when Remy Smith drove in Annie Eliason and Tori Lipka with an two-run RBI single up the middle.
- The Golden Rams reclaimed the lead in the top of the fifth 3-2.
- Down 5-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Jefferson made one last push as Lilly Hutt reached on an error and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Devin Brandley, but the rally fell short.
- Delaney Alix took the loss, pitching six innings as she gave up five hits and four runs, only two were earned, while striking out eight batters. Liv Stevens pitched the final inning with only one hit and one run given up with none of them being earned and one strikeout

- Jefferson struggled to generate offense in game two as West Chester's pitching held the Rams to just four hits.
- The Golden Rams struck early with a three-run homer in the second inning and sealed the win with four more runs in the seventh.
- Despite a solid start from Lily Hutt, who worked through early trouble, Jefferson was unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
- The Rams' best chance came in the sixth inning when Liv Stevens and Bridget Shields reached base, but a groundout ended the threat.
- Lily Hutt pitched the first four innings with one hit and three earned runs on the day as well as two strikeouts. Stevens ended the final three innings with five hits and four runs on the day, none of them earned
