No.10 Women's Soccer Records Fourth Straight Shutout; Beats Felician on Senior Day
PHILADELPHIA – No.10 nationally-ranked Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer (13-1-1, 9-0-1) looked to secure the top spot in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship playoffs next week with only two games remaining on their schedule. The Rams looked to get another win on Saturday as they took on Felician University (4-6-6, 2-3-5). Jefferson went to have their fourth straight shutout and 12th on the year as the Rams defeated the Golden Falcons 4-0 in CACC action. The Rams honored their seniors before the match for Senior Day.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Rams got out to an early lead as Gianna Garozzo hit her shot in the back of the net with 8:30 into the game, making it 1-0 for Jefferson. Evelin Ventura-Garcia dished out one of her three assists on the day with Nikki Dedes joining alongsider her for the first goal of the match
- Avery Nogami wasted little time to put up the second goal of the game as she scored at the 15th minute mark. Jane DeVoll went to the outside and found Ventura-Garcia, who put the ball across the net that passed several defenders and found Nogami right in front of the net for a 2-0 Jefferson lead. The Rams would hold onto that score heading to the break
- The second half saw little time wasted to put up more points as Dedes made her shot right to the top corner for a 3-0 advantage. Garozzo hit Dedes to the right, where she set herself and put her shot on the top part of the net that the Golden Falcons could not reach. Jefferson went up 3-0
- Garozzo completed the day with a goal at the 71st minute. Ventura-Garcia passed her defender down the goalie line and hit the ball right to Garozzo, who was standing five feet away from the net, and put the ball into the goal to complete the 4-0 win against Felician
- Carly Hayman was only tested three times today, making a save for her eighth shutout this season

The Rams look to secure a top-2 seed to make both matches go through Ravenhill Field as Jefferson has their final regular season game on Tuesday, November 4 when they take on cross town rival Chestnut Hill College at 2 p.m. in CACC action.
