Dedes and Yeager Recognized with Yearly Awards; Nine Rams Make CACC Women's Soccer All-Conference Team


NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer collects yearly awards for their play this season while seeing nine of their athletes make the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Conference Team, the most in program history. This is the sixth time in seven seasons the Rams have had seven or more players make the All-CACC squad, with this being the first time the team has had six players earn First Team recognition. Nikki Dedes was named CACC Player of the Year while Carly Yeager secured her third consecutive Defensive Player of the Year award. Both made the first team alongside Kyra Lesko, Evelin Ventura-Garcia, Alexa Callahan, and Mia Ferrara while Carly Hayman, Gianna Garozzo, and Dillon Sorino got placed on the Second Team squad. 

NIKKI DEDES – PLAYER OF THE YEAR AND ALL-CACC FIRST TEAM 
Dedes takes home her second yearly award from the conference in her career (she was named Rookie of the Year in 2022) while being on the CACC All-Conference Team for the fourth consecutive season. This is her third time being on the First Team squad as she was on it in 2022 and 2024 while being on the Second Team in 2023. Dedes sits atop the CACC in total points (30) while tying in assists (10) as she's top 5 in total goals, goals-per-game, points-per-game, and assists-per-game. She has eight games with 2 or more points. Dedes currently has 10 goals, 10 assists, 30 points, and 3 game-winning goals on the year. She has started in all 18 appearances for Jefferson. 

CARLY YEAGER – DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AND ALL-CACC FIRST TEAM 
Yeager earns her third straight CACC Defensive Player of the Year award, earning it in 2023 and 2024, making the First Team squad in the same timespan as well. She has made 18 starts this season for the Rams. Yeager has helped the defense record 14 shutouts this season with a .824 shutout percentage, both tied second in the nation. She also put pressure on opposing offenses, helping the squad allow 6.8 shots-per-game and .50 goals-per-game. 

KYRA LESKO – ALL-CACC FIRST TEAM 
Lesko earns All-Conference Team recognition for the first time in her career. She has played all 18 games for the Rams, making 17 starts. Lesko is tied for second on the team in goals (9), second in total points (27) and third in assists (9). She has three game-winning goals this season for the Rams. 

EVELIN VENTURA-GARCIA – ALL-CACC FIRST TEAM 
Ventura-Garcia joins her teammates on the All-Conference First Team squad, the first in her collegiate career. She has played all 18 games with 17 starts on the year. Ventura-Garcia has four goals and 7 assists on the year, accumulating 15 points with two game-winning goals. She has two multi-assist games this season. 

ALEXA CALLAHAN – ALL-CACC FIRST TEAM 
Callahan earns All-Conference First Team squad honors for the second time in her career, with the first being in 2023. She has played all 18 games for the Rams, making 17 starts. Callahan has two goals and three assists this season, earning seven points, while having two game-winning goals on the year.  

MIA FERRARA – ALL-CACC FIRST TEAM 
Ferrara gets on the All-Conference Team for the third time in her career and the first being on the First Team, with the other two instances were on the Second Team in 2023 and 2024. She has started in 17 games in as many appearances for the Rams, being on the defensive side of the ball more this year. Ferrara has helped the defense record 14 shutouts this season with a .824 shutout percentage, both tied second in the nation. She also put pressure on opposing offenses, helping the squad allow 6.8 shots-per-game and .50 goals-per-game. Ferrara has also tied the team with 10 assists with two goals this year, accumulating 14 points this season. 

CARLY HAYMAN – ALL-CACC SECOND TEAM 
Hayman makes her first All-Conference Team in her career, earning Second Team recognition as a goalkeeper. She is ranked fifth in the country in goals-against-average (.46) while being ninth in shutouts (10). Hayman also is second in the CACC in save percentage with .838. Hayman has 13 starts to her name, going 10-1-1 on the year while making 31 saves and allowing six goals this season. 

GIANNA GAROZZO – ALL-CACC SECOND TEAM 
Garozzo makes the All-CACC Second Team for two years in a row, earning that spot back in 2024. She has started all 18 games for the Rams. Garozzo is tied for second on the team with nine goals while adding two assists, putting her at third with 20 points. She currently leads the team with four game-winning goals. Garozzo has two multi-goal games this season as well. 

DILLAN SORINO – ALL-CACC SECOND TEAM 
Sorino makes her first All-Conference Team in her career. She has played all 18 games for Jefferson, making 17 starts during that time. Sornio has one goal on the year for the Rams while helping the offense move as they average 2.94 goals-per-game with 19.8 shots-per-game.
