Men's Soccer Posts Three Goals; Defeats Goldey-Beacom
WILMINGTON, Del. – Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer (5-5-4, 3-1-4) competed in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Tuesday as they went up against Goldey-Beacom College (2-9-3, 1-4-2). The Rams broke their four-game conference tie streak as they earned a 3-1 victory against the Lightning.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Jefferson got on the board first as Mohamed Elhendawy kicked the ball to Diego Guzman who made a move and made his shot in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead that the Rams would hold to the half
- The Lightning struck in the second half as Johs Herden scored at the 60th minute in the second half to even the match out
- Paul Nedeoglo got Jefferson back ahead as he attempted a free kick and got his shot in the back of the net at the 65th minute for a 2-1 advantage
- The Rams put the nail in the coffin as Guzman got the ball popped out right to Mike Cancelliere, who hit the pop shot over Goldey-Beacom's goalie for a 3-1 win
- JR Sexton ended the day with 3 saves in the victory
