Two First Half Goals and Second Half Stand Give Men's Soccer 2-1 Victory Over Southern New Hampshire 

PHILADELPHIA – The Rams got out to an early lead with two first half goals in the first half while holding off 11 shots in the second half as Thomas Jefferson University (3-0-1) held onto a 2-1 win over Southern New Hampshire (2-1) in Saturday afternoon non-conference action. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• Gabe Paz put the Rams on the board as he stole the ball within the first 30 seconds of the game. Preston Neal drove closer to the ball, which allowed Paz to hit the ball over the Penmen's head and allowing the ball to go in the goal for an early 1-0 lead 

• Paz got his second goal after a foul in the box got him a penalty kick at the 43:04 mark. He kicked it right to the left side of the net for a 2-0 lead heading into the break. 

• The Penmen got more offense in the second half, outshooting the Rams 11-1 

• Martin Fuentes received a pass from the center, giving a chance to hit the ball past the Rams to get within 2-1 for Southern New Hampshire 

• John Nelson held his own, having seven total saves with five of them in the second half 

• The Penmen had four shots in the final six minutes, but Jefferson held onto a 2-1 win
