Softball Swept By Felician
PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University softball team (10-11, 4-6) competed in Saturday afternoon Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) competition where the Rams were swept by Felician University (13-23, 7-5). The Golde Falcons held onto a 3-1 win in game one, while rolling to a 11-4 victory over Jefferson in game two.
WHAT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: L, 3-1
The Rams got out to an early lead as a wild pitch set up Rozalee Negron to make home plate and put the first run of the day up. Neither team was able to get past second base for four innings, keeping Jefferson ahead 1-0. Felician eventually began to score, capitalizing on two Rams' errors in the fifth inning to give the Golden Falcons a 2-1 lead.
Felician added another score on the board, getting all their runs on three of four Jefferson errors, making the score 3-1. The Rams began to get runners on bases, with a Golden Falcons error having a runner on first. After a out to first, giving Maritza Lopez-Gonzalez the chance to make it to second base, Annabella Zito was hit by pitch for the tying run on first. Negron delivered a hit that had all bases loaded with Rams, but a quick throw to third base concluded the first game in favor of Felician.

Felician went on to put up six runs in the top of the third inning, relying on two singles, a double, and a triple to tack those runners to homeplate for the Golden Falcons. The game would remain scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when Egher hit a double to left field, giving Annalise Pudimott and Bridget Shields time to round homeplate and cut Felician's lead to three.
