PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University men's tennis team (20-4) won its second consecutive CACC title with a 4-0 blanking of Chestnut Hill (14-9) on Friday.
The Rams receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. The national bracket will be announced on Monday, April 24
th at 8 p.m. on NCAA.com.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jefferson took the doubles point after victories at the second flight by
Hannibal Borg and
Elliot Jarosz (6-3) and the first spot by German Lopez Andujar and
Hubert Theriault (6-3).
Jules Thibault made quick work of his opponent at sixth singles, 6-1, 6-1, to put the Rams ahead 2-0.
After a 6-4 win in set one, Borg dominated his second set, coming out on top 6-1 and giving Jefferson a 3-0 lead.
Enrique Soto Ballester then provided the championship-clinching point, earning a 6-3, 6-3 decision at the fourth position.
