Women's Tennis Take Last Two Matches and Take 4-3 Win Over Chestnut Hill; Heads to CACC Championship

WILMINGTON, DE. - Being down 3-2 with the last two matches in play, Manni Zhang won on a retirement and Charly Egger earned a victory in the third set to help the #2 seed Thomas Jefferson University women's tennis team (13-4) edge out the #3 seed Chestnut Hill College (9-5) to punch in their tickets to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships tomorrow. 

WHAT HAPPENED 
The Rams took the second doubles match with Manni Zhang and Charly Egger winning 6-1 with the Griffins winning the third 6-0, setting up a tiebreaker from the first doubles. Jefferson would win the third set as Nicole Hrbkova and Noelle Frenzel earned a 6-1 win and take the first point of the game. 

Jefferson and Chestnut Hill would trade wins, as the Griffins took the fifth singles while the Rams Noelle Frenzel won the first. Chestnut Hill would take the lead, stealing the second and six singles matches and being up 3-2 over Jefferson in the last two matches.  

Zhang would win her first set 6-4 before taking a win on retirement to even it at 3-3, while Egger playing in the final match. She would drop the first set 1-6 before winning the second 7-6, taking a 7-3 tiebreaker. Egger would rally and win 6-2 in the third set, giving the Rams the last point and winning 4-3, sending them to the CACC Championship match tomorrow for the third straight season.
