FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team (1-3) suffered a 4-1 loss at Queens (3-2) on Wednesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The two sides traded opportunities through the opening 15 minutes but both goalkeepers were up to the task, combining for seven saves. The Knights then began to control play, outshooting the Rams 6-0 over the next 20 minutes, and posted their first goal of the evening in the 35
th minute. Queens made it 2-0 just five minutes later and took the advantage into halftime.
The Knights kept up the offensive pressure to begin the second period, finding the back of the net again in the 53
rd minute. Jefferson countered four minutes later to cut the deficit to two (3-1).
Kai Mangahas intercepted a clearing attempt on the left side and centered to
Mateo Infante, who converted a blast from 25 yards for his second goal of the season. However, the Rams could not carry the momentum forward and Queens added an insurance goal in the 65
th minute.
