NEWARK, Del. – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (6-3, 5-0 CACC) shut out Wilmington (2-6-2, 1-3-1 CACC) on the road, 3-0, to remain unbeaten in the conference on Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams got off to a hot start, tallying three shots and three corner kicks within the opening 15 minutes. After a lull in play, Jefferson ramped it up again and scored its first goal in the 36
th minute.
Laural Erick stole the ball from a Wildcat defender in the Wilmington end. Erick found
Avery Nogami in the middle and Nogami tapped it into an open net for the 1-0 lead.
The Wildcats had their first significant spurt of offense early in the second half. They registered three shots and a pair of corner kicks in a 12-minute span but came up empty. The Rams countered and found the back of the net again in the 65
th minute.
Mia Ferrara dribbled in the left corner and got off a cross to the middle.
Nikki Dedes settled and sent in her team-leading eighth goal of the year to put Jefferson up two.
The Rams conceded just one more shot the rest of the way, which was stopped by goalkeeper
Jaclyn Martino, and
Abby Cargile set up
Kiery Spatz for another marker in the 87
th minute to close the scoring.

- Jefferson has outscored its opponents, 15-4, during its current five-game win streak.
- It is the first time this year that the Rams have recorded back-to-back shutouts. They did it four times in 2021.
