Men's Soccer Records Clean Sheet Against Bloomfield To Move To 2-0 In Conference Play

PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team (3-4, 2-0 CACC) claimed a 2-0 victory versus visiting Bloomfield (1-3-2, 1-1-1 CACC) on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams found the back of the net on the game's first shot in the seventh minute. Kai Mangahas served the ball to the top of the box, finding Theophilus Ijeboi. Ijeboi was able to settle the ball, turn, and shoot around a Bears' defender to beat the goalkeeper inside the right post for a 1-0 lead. The next 10 minutes favored the visitors as Bloomfield recorded two shots and a pair of corner kicks but Jefferson maintained the advantage.

Play balanced out for the remainder of the first half, though the Bears earned two corners in the final minutes but came up empty. The two sides traded chances in the second period with the goalies combining for three stops. The Rams finally broke through for a key insurance goal in the 71st minute. Gabe Paz sent the ball up the left flank where Mangahas corralled and crossed to the middle. The ball squeaked through a Bloomfield defender to TJ Hibsman in front, who finished for the 2-0 advantage. Jefferson did not allow a shot the rest of the way.
